Places of worship
The chapels
Two chapels within the walls of the Abbaye Saint-Pierre: one standing on its own in the park, the other within the conventual buildings.
The old abbey church has gone. Two modest chapels within the abbey grounds are used for worship today; prayer has begun again in them. They appear on the list of places of public worship submitted to the prefecture; the association has the liturgy celebrated in them and looks after them.
The chapel of Sainte-Lucie

It stands alone among the trees of the park, apart from the buildings. It is a nineteenth-century chapel of brick and render: a round-arched porch, a pediment edged with sawtooth brickwork, a bellcote with its bell, and above the door the arms of the abbey carved in stone.
Inside, a white vaulted nave and an altar of carved stone. About fifteen places.
Its walls were strengthened during a restoration training project of the Conservatoire du Patrimoine des Abbayes.

The chapel of Saint-Pierre

It lies within the conventual buildings. Vaults rest on slender columns, two round windows of stained glass light the far wall, and nineteenth-century wooden stalls run along the sides. In this choir the Benedictine nuns sang the Office, apart from the faithful, until 2014.
About forty places.
It adjoins the ground floor of building A, where the Saint-Michel House now is.

Within the abbey

The chapels are places of prayer. They are entered for the celebrations; to come at another time, it is enough to write. The history of the abbey is presented by the Conservatoire.
